This hugely popular HBO series features some of the most beautiful houses and interiors you’ll see on TV. The series was filmed on location in Malibu, Los Angeles and, mainly, in Monterey, California. This stunning town provides a pivotal and eye-catching backdrop to the dark storyline unfolding before us. The leading characters homes are scattered along the beach with stunning ocean views. One of the most talked about on-screen houses is Renata Klein’s (Laura Dern) modern beach-side house. With crisp white render, vast expanses of floor to ceiling glazing and highly contemporary designer furniture, the house showcases considerable wealth and status.Read more
Madeline Mackenzie’s (Reese Witherspoon) house is situated almost on the sand. The house is actually in Malibu, Los Angeles. This classic American costal home is a considerable contrast to the modern architecture of Renata’s house. The interiors have a traditional feel without being old fashioned. It’s a bright and airy home beautifully decorated by the shows acclaimed set decorator Amy Wells. Much of the set décor was sourced from Restoration Hardware. We particularly like Madeline’s large kitchen. A lot of scenes are shot as the family eats around the kitchen island. It features wonderful English Schoolhouse Stools in white from Restoration Hardware and is lit by three foyer pendant lights from Wayfair.Read more
Celeste Wright’s (Nicole Kidman) house is actually somewhere between Madeline’s and Renata’s houses. Not quite uber-contemporary and not quite classic traditional. With a much more post-modern design feel with walls of thinly framed windows, pale timber floors. This is combined with a mix of both high-end and rustic furniture and décor, making it our favorite house in the show. As with all of the on-screen homes in this coastal town, much of the living takes place outside on the deck. Celeste’s raised deck wraps around her house with a glass balustrade. It features beautiful outdoor furniture in subtle tones from Restoration Hardware. Scroll down to shop these items.Read more
